My approach to altering and extending old houses is a mixture of respect for the original rooms, with their proportion and ambience, and responding to the needs of modern family living. When re-configuring a house, my main objective is to provide adequate space, plenty of light and, perhaps most importantly, views - both external and internal - which determine the feeling of space and well-being.
As an RIBA Chartered Practice I provide a complete architects service or partial services such as measured surveys, planning applications, submission under Building Regulations, tender documents, schedule of work and contract management. I prepare all documents to enable firm tenders from contractors and advise on contractors' quotations.
I have worked for large practices in London, Reading and Oxford, on health and education and residential projects, for over 30 years. In 2010, I set up my own RIBA Chartered Practice exclusively for private residential projects.
